OVERVIEW
This project was completed at home, and I decided to do it because I wanted some decent speakers for my room. I also like to DJ and so I wanted a speaker that was loud and has a ‘punchy’ bass but also produces high quality overall sound. I researched speaker designs and the physics behind speaker boxes and used that as the basis of my design. I made the speaker out of MDF and then screwed and glued the parts together. I painted it white with a blue music-themed design. I also integrated some capacitive-touch sensors on the top of the speaker for volume control and a fan to keep the hot amplifier heat sinks cool. I made a YouTube video at the end of my project that shows some of my design considerations.
